It is said that we spend one-third of our lives sleeping. I’d argue that we spend most of our lives looking at screens. If you read about the impact of blue light, that’s scary. However, If you don’t know the impact, let’s just say that eye strain, lack of sleep, insufficient energy levels, and headaches are contributing factors of blue light emitted from our screens.
While our eyes can’t protect themselves from this overexposure, we will be looking at the Barner blue light glasses, which aim to, and see whether they’re worth it.
Design
Appearance matters. You want to feel confident when you’re out and about, and the Barner blue light glasses look great, particularly their best-selling “Le Marais” style. That is what I’m wearing in these photos in the tortoise colour.
But the appearance of glasses isn’t one size fits all. Their look will depend on your face and style; therefore, the frames you feel comfortable with may differ. That’s the great thing about Barner; they offer multiple designs with different colour options.
I like that Barner frames are unique when you look at and touch them as opposed to other blue-light-blocking glasses brands that drop ship their frames.
How comfortable are the Barner Blue Light Glasses?
Suppose you are going to be wearing glasses all day long while working; comfort matters. What I particularly love about Barner’s frames is their comfort. The frames are made from light polycarbonate, weighing only 0.80 oz. It feels like you’re not even wearing them most of the time. It has a rubberized texture to keep them in place and a flexible hinge frame that adapts to any face shape.
Features
Now, just because a pair of glasses look great doesn’t mean it is great. The quality of the lenses matters most when it comes to blue-light-blocking glasses, and that’s where dropshipping companies fail. Without the right quality, the lenses will get scratched easily, have too much glare, and won’t protect your eyes from blue light at the level that they should.
The organic CR-39 lens that the Barner blue light glasses come with blocks 40% of the blue light on the 430nm – 450nm spectrum and 100% of the blue light at 410nm.
The lens features
- Scratch resistance
- Anti-glare
- Anti-static coat
- Hydrophobic coat to repel water
If you are going to invest in a pair of blue-light-blocking glasses, invest in quality lenses that will last for years.
Are the Barner blue light glasses worth it?
For €59 or €99, including a prescription, the Chroma collection Barner blue glasses are great. The value you get is excellent for the coating on the lens and the quality of the frame. It beats most designer frames in terms of comfort.
I noticed less dryness in my eyes and more energy throughout the day when wearing these glasses. However, I find myself taking them off for specific tasks like photo editing or painting, where seeing colour is crucial as the lenses have a slight yellow tint.
But if that isn’t an issue, we recommend these glasses. They look great, feel great, and are comfortable.
