Is the AllSaints Conroy Leather Biker Jacket Worth It? – Review

I’ve been searching for a leather biker jacket made from real leather and have always loved the rugged and edginess of AllSaints jackets. 

AllSaints is a U.K. brand with a range of essentials inspired by a gritty urban aesthetic. I came across them when watching the vampire diaries and originals, it was the primary brand for the outfits the characters would wear and I loved how badass it makes the actors look.

If you’re on the search for a leather jacket, could this be the one? 

Low Key, Yet Rocky

This is a biker jacket, so you’re getting that badass rockstar look with quilted shoulder panels, zipped cuffs, and asymmetric zip. The flashiest details are on the silver zips. However, the buttons themselves are black. They’re not the typical silver you’d see on a classic biker jacket. I prefer this muted look a lot more. The overall jacket has a muted look. It’s not a glossy piano black but “ink navy”, which is slightly brighter depending on the lighting with a more matte finish.

The Quality

The AllSaints Conroy Leather Biker Jacket is made of 100% sheep leather. It feels soft and smells like leather from a distance. The leather has a lightly crinkled effect for a worn-in aesthetic, which I like. At $559/€459, this is a mid-range leather jacket. So the leather isn’t going to be of the same quality as a high end $1,000 jacket, and definitely not of the same quality as a low-end jacket from Zara. 

Something to note is since the sheep leather is quite soft, it’s prone to tears and rips, so it’s something to watch out for.

Not the Best Fit, Size Down

The AllSaints Conroy Leather Biker Jacket is a regular fit jacket, not slim. Unfortunately, I got a medium size, 38 inches in chest size, my usual size. I’m 177cm 5ft10 with a muscular build. The sleeves and the waist are cut longer, meaning the jacket was either designed for someone over 6ft tall with long arms and torso, or that’s just how it’s supposed to be aesthetic wise, but it’s not ideal. 

The overall fit is more on the loose side. It’s a regular fit leather jacket, not a slim fit. So you’d want to size down for this if you have a slimmer build so it’ll stretch to your size after a while, but if you’re someone who likes to zip up your jacket, you may want to test out zipping it up to make sure it fits with the smaller size. I wasn’t aware it was a regular fit; I may opt to get a smaller size in the future.

Versatility 

This isn’t a flashy classic biker jacket, which makes it more on the casual side. You can still dress it up with a turtle neck and trousers or dress it down with a t-shirt and jeans. You can rock it with any color, and looks great with accessories like the Mujjo leather gloves. 

Functionality

This AllSaints Conroy Leather Biker Jacket features two inner pockets and 2 outer pockets, which are spacious for storage. The jacket is on the heavy side, but it keeps you warm when combined with a sweater. The zipping functionality can be annoying to use as it has two zips, but it’s not a big deal once you get the hang of it. 

Conclusion

A leather jacket is an essential and timeless piece. A good one can last you a lifetime if taken care of. I would encourage anyone to have one good real, mid or high range leather jacket, then you won’t need another one. The AllSaints Conroy Leather Biker Jacket is a best seller for a reason and one I would recommend. It’s edgy, timeless, and badass. Be sure to size down so you can look as awesome as possible.
