As creators, we spend a lot of our time working on our laptops. Whether it be working from home, traveling, at Starbucks, on a train or plane. Laptops have been the ultimate flexibility and convenience device that allow us to work from almost anywhere. The biggest overlooked gripe with the laptop is its design ergonomically. As the name suggests, it’s meant to be placed on the lap. Place your laptop on your lap or desk, use it for a couple of hours; you’ll find yourself bending your neck till it aches, with your wrist and finger pain crunched up on the keyboard. Laptops are not ergonomically friendly; this can lead to pain and aches in parts of the body that we’ve all gotten at a particular time during a work session.
Laptop stands have been a great solution to this problem, the MOFT Stand – Universal Version is the one we’re looking at today, let’s dive in.
Design – You Forget It’s There
The MOFT stand is super light and super thin at a 3 oz and 1/10” thick. Even with its thinness, the MOFT stand is strong and stable holding up to 18 lbs as a result of its constructed special PU and fiberglass material. Its body adapts to the form factor of your laptop, fitting up to a 15.6 inches. One thing I like about the stand is how stable it is, as I’m typing away, I don’t feel an annoying amount of shakiness. I also love how when using the stand, you can’t see it. It truly is invisible, which allows your focus to be primarily on your laptop, and that’s perfect.
Unlike the MOFT laptop stand the universal version doesn’t feature adhesive and for a good reason too. My DELL XPS 13 that I’m testing the stand with has vents on the back. If that’s the case for your laptop, it’s recommended to stick with the universal version to avoid it being blocked off. On the surface of the stand, you’ll see a rubbery hexagon surface texture, which grips onto the base of the laptop, preventing it from slipping off.
Features and Functionality – Simple to Use
The MOFT stand is movable with two elevation adjustments, making it easy to find the ideal height and comfort for a healthy posture.
The high-lifting mode optimizes a sitting posture, applying a 3-inch elevation to the laptop screen. The low-lifting mode eases the wrists when typing. This flexibility helps prevent neck and shoulder pain while looking at the screen. With the built-in magnets, It’s effortless to use MOFT stand and only takes one second to open and close it. It took me a while to figure it out at first, but after an hour of use, you just know.
The thinness and weight make traveling with the MOFT stand a dream. So you won’t have a frustration of spending much time on packing and unpacking the device, and it fits right into anywhere you put it with ease.
My Thoughts
For a while, I would have backaches, sore neck, and wrists, but just after a week of testing the MOFT stand those days were quickly gone. I feel much more motivated to work on my laptop and much better after a work session.
I found myself using the 15 degrees angle much more than the higher 25 degrees’ one. It’s a lot easier on the wrists and allowing me to rest it on on the keyboard while typing, my neck doesn’t have to bend for the screen at all. The 15-degree angle is perfect for watching videos, movies or reading.
Is the MOFT Stand Worth It?
We don’t usually tell you to go and get a product we merely tell you whether it’s worth it or not and it’s up to you to get it based on whether it’s right for you. The MOFT stand is an exception, we wholeheartedly recommend you go out and buy it. If you work from your laptop all the time and it’s a huge part of your life. Having neck, back, wrist pains and health problems shouldn’t have to be a huge part of your life too. This invisible stand from MOFT is just a perfect combination of efficiency, functionality and minimalist style

At $29.99, for what it offers in terms of health, we highly recommend the MOFT stand. There are a lot of other laptop stands on the market but the MOFT stand outshines its competition in terms of size, portability, convenience, and the fact that it truly feels “invisible”.
